Our First Family Vaca - Day 4

It was Friday, which meant it was time to head to the Disney Resort at Hilton Head!  We were so excited and decided to head out early to eat at The Hominy Grill.  We had attempted to eat there many times before, but was never able to make it.  Who would've thought that we would be a party of 3 when we finally got to go...

Get a good look at the couple behind us, because I'm pretty sure after we sat down that they totally regretted being sat beside us.  Pierce was getting to sample "real food" on vacation, which made him super excited!  He got a tad excited about his grits and went crazy!  I couldn't feed his face fast enough!  I was in a sweat trying to keep him happy.  The baby screams and whines between bites was distraction enough, but add in the grits being thrown everywhere, beating on the table, and him giving the stare down, I'm sure they decided right there that they would never have kids... EVER.  haha.

After trying to feed our Tasmanian Devil we headed out to get to the Disney Resort... only to find out that we couldn't check in early like we had thought.  We got there at nap time and were desperate for a room!  However, they did give us the great news that they had given us an upgrade.  At the moment, I didn't really care because I had a fussy baby and was ready for a room.  As all the other guests continued to get to check in to their room early, we continued to be told that our room wasn't ready.  We played pool in the lobby and drove around the resort (which was tiny).  It was raining, so we couldn't go to the pool or do anything outside.  We tried to go get some lunch, which also turned out to be a disaster when the greek lady decided to touch Pierce and totally freak him out.  Our room was finally clean right at check-in time at 4 o'clock.  I was not happy after our 3-4 hour wait, but coming into our beautiful room made it almost worth it!  ;)

I had to take pics of our place, because it was gorgeous and huge!

This whole area was our porch!  It was so relaxing.  It was so nice to have our own little condo area to relax and enjoy family time.  Russ went and picked us up some burgers from a quick little restaurant by the pool.  We ate in our little kitchen and then went and enjoyed the pool.

After the pool, we went back and let Pierce play in the big bath before bedtime.

Our First Family Vaca - Day 3

Our third day at the beach and we decided to skip bringing everything and just go enjoy it real quick! that morning

He loved the water so much!  On the way back to our room, we noticed the pool was empty, and decided to try it out.  It was kind of embarrassing, though, because a man was cleaning all the sand off the pool and we just brought more in.  We were trying to rinse it off while his back was turned to us! haha but he was super nice about it.  He cleaned off our sandy shoes with the hose and then brought us towels back.  Pierce was having so much fun that Russ went to get Pierce's float and put his swimming trunks on, so he could join in on the fun.  Pierce was doing great, since he hadn't had his morning nap.  He finally tired out though and we took him back to the room for a nap.  After nap, we were HUNGRY!  We decided to walk across the street and get some pizza.  I gave Pierce a few bites of pizza and he fell in love with the cheesy goodness (taking after his mama).  He also drank out of a straw for the first time, but then forgot and started blowing through it.  We have yet to get him to drink from one since.

After lunch, we went back out to enjoy the beach some more.

Russ was going on the long trek to get some water for Pierce's pool.

Playing in the sand!

After the beach, we went out to Charleston to get some food.  Russ and I loved this restaurant!  It had a beautiful view and delicious food.  Our booth was up on a platform and so Pierce sat in an extra high highchair.  It made me a little nervous.  I could not get Pierce buckled into it no matter how hard I tried.  He enjoyed greeting everyone as they walked in, since we were near the door.

My beautiful boys!

So good!

Shrimp and grits for Russ,,, again! lol

Pierce getting a bottle from his daddy.  Such a wonderful daddy!

That is day 3 and hopefully I can get the next few days blogged soon!  We are hoping to get our computer hooked up soon!  I've been using Russ' work laptop, which requires me to blog in the evenings.  I'm working tomorrow evening (last day at that job! - more on that later) but will hopefully be able to finish up soon.  Thanks for reading!

Our First Family Vaca - Day 2

Day 2 of our vaca and guess who slept all night for the first time in days?!  As you can see Pierce woke up in a great mood!  We all felt so much better and were ready to enjoy our first full day of vacation!

I was nervous we wouldn't be able to get everything to the beach, but it wasn't bad at all.  We actually could do it in one trip, but thankfully our room wasn't but just a few steps away.  We set up our umbrella that I bought from a friend and Pierce a little kiddy pool.  He loved playing with his toys and was entertained the whole time.

He was a total beach babe!

I was worried about nap time, since Pierce isn't the type of baby that will just fall asleep in your arms.  I usually need to put him on the bed, but I really didn't want to leave the beach for his morning and afternoon naps.  I kept trying everything to get him to sleep, but nothing worked and he was so sleepy.  Finally, I decided to put him in my wrap and go on a walk down the beach.  This used to be the only way I could get him to nap when he was little.  Sure enough, he went to sleep as soon as I put him in it and gave him a paci.  It would at least get him a 30-45 minute nap, so he could make it until the afternoon.  We always went to the beach right after breakfast and then went in for his next nap when it was so hot.

After his nap, we got ready and went to Charleston to eat at Hyman's Seafood!

Pierce got sweet potato and he loved it!

We walked around Charleston and happened to walk by a law office one of Russ' friends used to work at.

Pierce fell asleep on our walk.
